The Chabrières Site, located at the heart of Corte’s craft and industrial district, is established on a former military compound, surrounded by the imposing Corti mountains and bordered by the Tavignanu River. This site acts as a driver of urban regeneration, creating a structuring connection between the river, the town center, and both existing and future sports and cultural routes, while bringing new vitality to this sparsely developed part of the city.

The landscape plan reinterprets the meanders of the Tavignanu and its riverside woodland to create a network of gentle, pedestrian-friendly pathways that wrap around the building, thereby strengthening its relationship with the immediate environment. It also establishes a strong connection between the facility and the surrounding outdoor areas—such as “the pétanque” courts, playground, and model-making area—while integrating the main pedestrian promenade.
This garden, low in water demand and requiring minimal maintenance, fits seamlessly into the Corte landscape and is composed primarily of Mediterranean vegetation, including pin laricio, a species endemic to Corsica, which frames the main promenade.

A Parking area will also be integrated into the overall landscape design of the site, thereby preventing the formation of heat islands. Rainwater collection basins will be installed and will supply the occasional irrigation required for the proper maintenance of this large garden.
