Sports Field at Lycée Auguste-Blanqui

The rehabilitation project of the sports plateau at Lycée Auguste-Blanqui aims to transform this space into a true place for activity, comfort, and landscape quality for the students. Located at the heart of a dense urban fabric, the plateau serves as a point of openness and breathing within the school. Our intervention seeks to upgrade the playing surface and design an integrated covering, while enhancing the environmental dimension and everyday use of this facility.

The treatment of the sports surface has been designed to ensure optimal conditions for use: comfort, durability, safety, and resilience. The choice of materials, colors, and markings allows for a clear structuring of activities, while providing visual unity across the space. The covering, conceived as a protective and lightweight element, introduces a new relationship with light and weather conditions, making the space usable year-round.

The project pays particular attention to its connection with the surrounding landscape: integration with views, coherence of lines, water management, and the handling of boundaries. The areas surrounding the plateau are treated as genuine landscaped thresholds, promoting gentle circulation, legible access, and user comfort.

This precise and restrained intervention provides the school with a renewed sports facility that is technical, welcoming, and fully aligned with the site’s identity—a space designed to support both educational activity and the daily life of students.
