Le Havre, in partnership with Grand Port Maritime du Havre, Alcéane, le Groupe Hospitalier du Havre et la CCI Seine Estuaire, launched the call for projects Re-inventing Le Havre.
The competition aims at generating original partnerships able to bring out innovative and attractive projects. These projects will reinforce the urban functions of downtown while respecting its identity: a city turned towards the sea with notable architectural and urban particularities.
The cinema on Avenue Foch, emblematic but in abandonment, is the basis for the renewal of the block’s center. The empty building, whose structure forms the framework for the development of abundant and exuberant vegetation, becomes an animated and lively urban passageway. The vegetation is present in all its states and goes with an atypical program of housing and shop.
