Place Rotrou is located in the heart of the city of Dreux, in the Eure-et-Loir department of the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Formerly used as a parking area with the Rotrou statue at its center, the square no longer reflected the city of Dreux’s new ambitions. In line with the preliminary renaturation master plan, the municipality decided to redevelop the square, prioritizing soft mobility, and in particular, pedestrian use.

Rue d’Orléans is maintained as the main thoroughfare, with short-term parking on the left for commercial use. Rue Rotrou remains in place with controlled access, reserved solely for residents.
On either side of the square are two large and attractive planted strips. They act as visual and acoustic buffers with the streets and also facilitate stormwater management. The central area is expansive, allowing for a variety of uses organized by the city and/or local businesses..
