This project concerns the construction of a semi-buried cinema with three screening rooms of 300 seats each, integrating the existing “bains douches” building and a 1,500 m² landscaped area.
The eastern part of the site will be defined by the building volumes and a raised terrain corresponding to the large screening hall, while also integrating into a more urban frontage in compliance with the local urban planning regulations. This area will be developed as a landscaped garden open for walking. Unlike the western forecourt, this park is designed to be enclosed, independent from the cinema, yet accessible to the public. More intimate, it will offer a heavily vegetated and distinctive setting with multiple uses: strolling, contemplation, etc., playing with high and low positions, near and distant views.
The landscape ambition is based on several themes: green network and biodiversity, careful selection of plant species, and ecological management of green spaces. Regarding planting, vegetation will be non-allergenic, low water-consuming, perennial, and resilient.
