Leisure Center

In Cavaillon, the city commissioned the construction of a new Leisure Center Without Accommodation and a gymnasium, designed to accommodate up to 300 children aged 3 to 13 and to support school and extracurricular activities. Located on Avenue Elsa Triolet, within a renewing public facilities sector, the complex delivered in 2020 establishes a new structuring public hub.

The landscape design extends the architecture through careful treatment of surfaces and outdoor atmospheres.

The leisure center and gymnasium grounds are conceived as breathing spaces, both functional and sensitive, where vegetation provides practical use, shade, and climatic comfort. A palette of spontaneous and endemic plant species accompanies the pathways and facilitates a natural reading of the site.

To the south, a broad planted strip ensures a gentle transition with the surrounding neighborhood. Designed as a vegetal filter, it is organized in successive layers—standard trees, tall shrubs, low shrubs, perennials, and grasses—forming a protective micro-ecosystem for the children’s courtyard. This edge, extended by a pedagogical garden, becomes a space for nature discovery while creating a favorable habitat for local birds and insects. In this way, the landscape connects the programs, enhances the uses, and establishes a warm and lasting identity: an outdoor environment designed to be lived in, for learning, playing, moving, and growing.
