This ambitious program is driven by the implementation of an ANRU (National Urban Renewal Agency) initiative in the Arts et Fleurs-Feugrais neighborhoods of Cléon. The project includes the construction of an elementary and nursery school, a social center, a daycare facility, and a PAIO (integration and orientation support center).

Given the function of these facilities, the proposed landscape design highlights the buildings while primarily creating setbacks and secure surroundings for the site. We opted for natural spaces with a significant share of vegetation (covering 30% of the site area) and efficient rainwater management to mitigate urban heat island effects. These measures also improve the well-being of children by providing cool, pleasant communal areas for daily use.
For the design of playgrounds and forecourts, the ground surface contributes to rainwater infiltration through grassed slabs and is finished in light colors to avoid heat accumulation in unshaded areas. Vegetated areas are abundant, including trees, orchards, educational gardens, and planted strips, with species adapted to the school environment and resilient to climate change.
